MomBloggersPlanet Cutest Baby in NATURE Contest

Timothy(D.O.B: 12th Feb 2007) just loves being outdoors. Every morning he would just climb onto the bed, and peer longingly into the garden below. Yes, just bringing him out to the garden will put a big smile on his face, what more when daddy & mummy bring Timothy to various outdoor places, you always end up refusing to go home.

This is Timothy at 26mths old, enjoying himself dancing in the garden. It always puzzle daddy & mummy, how you can always find some activity to occupy yourself in the garden, from pulling weeds to plucking flowers(no wonder mummy always find th flower plants turning bald after each trip of yours to the garden)and chasing birds.

Back in July this year, daddy & mummy brought you to visit the Tang family in Scotland. My, my, what great fun you had with the Tang family, when they brought us to Tentsmuir Forestry Reserve for a picnic cum barbeque outing.
Tentsmuir Forest in Fife, Scotland, stands next to Kinshaldy Beach with a view across the Firth of Tay. Covering some 50 square miles, the area was originally moorland before acquisition by the Forestry Commission in the 1920s.
The forest consists mainly of Scots Pine and Corsican Pine, a large part of which is a Nature Reserve (Tentsmuir Point National Nature reserve). Since the forest is adjacent to Kinshaldy Beach, there is a large variety of wildlife. Here can be seen deer, bats, Red Squirrel and in particular Grey Seal. Unusually, however, there are also cattle present as part of conservation management.

This is Timothy posing with the Tang children, Grace and John in Tentsmuir Park and below photo shows him playing mulberry bush with John.

Look, both good friends trying to outdo each other picking wild flowers in the park.

Looking happy having the Tang children to keep him company.

Outdoor activities are good for kids. It helps to keep them in shape.Research shows that childhood obesity has been steadily increasing over the past 30 years. While childhood obesity can be caused by poor eating habits, it can also result from a lack of vigorous physical activity. Bringing children outdoor is one of the methods in encouraging them to be active and thus keeping any obesity related sickness at bay. Besides keeping them fit, outdoor activities can also benefit children in terms of strength, endurance, and coordination. Children are sensory-motor learners and so playing outside is a valuable activity for children because of the many ways it promotes their development. Besides all the health benefits, playing outside stretches children's thinking and knowledge. Children need coordination; they need a chance to practice their basic physical skills. Outdoor play time also allows children to move freely and make noise, a form of self-expression that are often restricted indoors. It also gives them the opportunity to practice their social skills, thus strengthening their friendship bond and interaction with others.

However, a word of caution when bringing kids outdoor is to keep an eye on them and not let them wonder to places faraway from adults. Wondering alone is dangerous and might attract unnecessary attention. We also need to ensure sufficient protection from the sun before bringing them out. The sun rays can be very damaging to young skin.
